Institutions and explored the new activities within the objects of its own Constitution and has started many new institutions as the time and need of Indian Society required.
The Gujarat Christian Service Society is Registered Public Charitable Christian Trust. Registered at Ahmedabad, Gujarat State, India. Registered under Bombay Public Trust Act, 1950. It was Registered in 1969 vide its registration no. Guj./290/Ahmedabad.
About 150 years back the Christian Missionaries from Northern Ireland brought the Gospel to Gujarat and they showed their Love of Christ in their actions by doing humanitarian work like opening educational institutions viz. Primary Schools, High Schools, Colleges, Hostels etc. and also opened the Hospitals, Dispensaries etc in the fields of health specially in rural areas where no such services were available to the people. The first two missionaries from the Presbyterian Church of Northern Ireland landed on the coast of Gujarat in the year 1840 AD. After independence of India, as the Missionaries started leaving India, they handed over the missionary work and activities to the local Indian people and in respect of their concern and burden for the work they started and run in Gujarat. They thought it wise to put the activities and properties and institutions in hands of a regional body, The Gujarat Christian Service Society in the year 1969.
The Gujarat Christian Service Society is Managing and Administering the
properties and institutions according to its own constitution which is a
registered Trust. The Hon’ble Charity Commissioner under the Bombay
Public Trust Act, 1950 has framed the Scheme for Administration and
Management of the I. P. Mission Trust which was administered and
managed by the former missionaries and in accordance with it the Gujarat
Christian Service Society is Managing and Administering the properties and
institutions handed over to it by the former outgoing missionaries, besides
it the Gujarat Christian Service Society as a Trust as opened new
institutions and explore the new activities within the objects of its own
Constitution and has started many new institutions as the time and need of
Indian Society required.
GCSS By the Numbers
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE
INSTITUTES OPNED NEW OVER THE PERIOD OF THE TIME
INSTITUTES HANDED OVER TO GCSS
As we celebrate 75th years of Independence Day of our country my heart beats with pride to see the colours of Independence Day spreading happiness and great joys all around.
We also remember to fight for freedom against many other issues like poverty, illiteracy, mal-nutrition of children, equality of girl child, and injustice to weaker sections. The Gujarat Christian Service Society for decades has been serving the nation by providing education, medical services and on other social issues. As GCSS we pledge to do so in coming years too.”
“The responsibilities have always been too enormous for me to perform without the help and guidance of The Almighty Lord. I am unable to justify it, I seek Lord’s power for the same.
We have seen tremendous growth and acquired many strategic and valuable assets to enrich our society further, turning them around with the help of our competent and dedicated people, who always supported us in achieving our vision and mission. We will continue our journey in the same direction with more vigour and strength.”
